Can any one reading this please send steam at email@support.steampowered.com a email asking them to turn off links in chat or make it a check box in your propitys to accept links in chat
today, i have yet another friend fall victom. i know it may be futile to get any results, but what if its your kid, friend, room mate, dad/mom that clicks these links and logs in. then its you thats going to have all this fun trying to get your games back

Today, I had a friend lose his account to the bad guys. My hacked friend sent out a different message this time which was quite unusual:

They are using phishing sites that ask you to log-in to your Steam account and the only difference is the address is slightly changed.
The last time this happened to my friend it was a "click here for 4 free steam games" and this one manged to attract 3 people on my friends list.
After the person logs into 'their account' on the site, it instantly takes over the account and changes all the information, account name and password so you cant log in to play your games.
If you poke around Steam's site, they say that Steam Employees will never ask for your account name or password and all transactions are made through the client program. So, if you get an offer and it's not through the official client, then its not true.
Mass Effect 2 according to many online sites has achieved a 10/10 score or slightly lower. Playing the game is definitely fun while enjoying the eye candy within.
EA is known for its adult materal in most of its games. Unlike MassEffect 1, this game does not fall short. If you play your cards right with your choice of words, you can get lucky. Just Google to find out how in MassEffect 2.
As many people playing this game are finding out, it's hard to put it down after you start. The first day I found myself enthralled for over 10 hours. The game play and graphics are just totally amazing.
Todays gadget is the FITBIT.
It's a padometer with sleep watch function. Slide it onto your belt or use the provided wrist strap. Requires charging once-a-week by docking it with the base. Monitor your fitness by docking the FITBIT or just walking with in 15 feet of the base. All the info is then uploaded to your free acount on FITBIT's site where you can see your progress.
Apples iPad will be out in March with a starting price of $499 USD. Looking like a over sized iPod touch, this might have many uses, from something for grandma to taking on a plane with you. With the same operating system as the iTouch and iPhone you will find yourself being able to know how it all works right away, and all your apps will work on the iPad.

CEO Terry McGraw on TV confirming that the Apple Tablet will indeed be announced tomorrow.
He further goes on to say:
"And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now is we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format … The tablet is going to be just really terrific."
This isn’t the first time someone confirmed the Apple Tablet (aka. iSlate) on TV, but this is the first time a partner of Apple went into a relatively lengthy discussion about it instead of just answering a simple yes to an inquiry.

Here is a free tool I've found to benchmark your system with DirectX 11, Dx10 and Dx9. With a Dx11 system and this tool you can do a fly through looking at the stone walk way, the shingles on the roof, the ropes on the bridge, and the dragon, pressing F3 will cycle you threw DirectX10 and DirectX11.Dx11Dx10Dx11Dx10
I'm sorry for the bad screenshots. I had an older version of Fraps that didn't work with Windows 7.
Pressing F2 you can cycle the wire frame on and off and while left on you can see the two different wire frames between Dx11 and Dx10. For the best visual demo, watch this YouTube video.
Josh Walrath of PC Perspective wrote me saying:

AMD/ATI introduced a Tessellation Engine in their R600 card (the HD 2900 XT) and had one in each preceding generation. However, DirectX did not support Tessellation until DX11. For Tessellation to work in any DirectX application, the card must be fully DX11 capable. So, those earlier cards from AMD will not run these DX11 benchmarks.
Heaven is a benchmark, but not a game yet. The first real DX11 game that came out was Dirt 2, and it did feature Tessellation support (though in very limited situations). Namely water and crowd tessellation. As for how people are doing the Heaven benchmark ... since so few people have full DX11 cards, they test benchmark in DX10 mode. The scores in DX11 and DX10 mode should not be confused with each other, as each has a very different workload."
In 2 more days we get to see what big announcement Apple has for us. Many think it is going to be an ebook reader or tablet such as an iPad or iSlate.
Whatever the truth is, many agree on one thing, that come 10 a.m. PST on Wednesday, January 27th at the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts in downtown San Francisco, there will be a hiccup in the time-space continuum as the truth is revealed. Is it a new Iphone? A new iMac? Or is it really the iSlate?
Also many are waiting to see if it has any thing Google in it. Apple is possibly replacing their search tool in the iPhone to Microsoft's Bing. Many think this is from Google's release of their Nexus One.
In the first game, you have a decision to make. Do you save Little Sister? Or do you harvest her for her ADAM. Now, it's 1970, a decade after the events of BioShock. The protagonist and player-controlled character is a Big Daddy, a being who has had its organs and skin grafted into an atmospheric diving suit.
The first of its kind, the player-controlled Big Daddy reactivates with no recollection of the past decade's events, and scours the city in a vain attempt to relocate the Little Sister that he was paired with. When it becomes obvious that Rapture's leader Sofia Lamb will become responsible for the city's destruction, the Big Daddy attempts to overthrow Lamb and her army of Big Sisters.
As a "rogue" Big Daddy, players will attempt to capture the Little Sisters from other Big Daddies who roam Rapture. Once a Little Sister is caught, the player will again have the option of choosing the fate of the Little Sisters. Harvesting remains a possibility in order to gain more ADAM, but rather than rescuing the Little Sister, players will instead be allowed to adopt them. With this option, Little Sisters ride around with the player's Big Daddy and will look for ADAM to harvest from corpses; in a manner similar to the proving grounds area of the first game, the player will then need to ensure that Splicers will not harm the Little Sister as the harvesting process takes place.
The Splicers will not damage the Little Sister but will delay the process of gathering the ADAM. This will prolong the time it takes for the little sister to gather ADAM, allowing more splicers to attack the player and the Little Sister. Rescuing, while not initially an option for the player, will become available at some point in the game.
Multiplayer
BioShock 2 will feature a story driven Multiplayer Mode where the player takes on the role of a citizen of Rapture. Set in 1959 (one year before the events of BioShock), the player chooses to take on the role of a splicer fighting in Rapture's Civil War. The player is being sponsored by Plasmid manufacturer, Sinclair Solutions, to test out their weapons, Plasmids and Tonics in a consumer reward program. As you progress through the multiplayer experience your character will unlock new weapons and Plasmids, provided by Sinclair, as well as progress the story of the Rapture Civil War.
The player can choose between 6 characters to be their in-game avatar. The characters are: a welder named Jacob Norris; a housewife named Barbara Johnson; a football star named Danny Wilkins; a businessman name Buck Raleigh; a pilot named Naledi Atkins; an Indian mystic named Suresh Sheti.
Multiplayer will come in 5 different modes, two of which have a single and team based mode.
The modes are:
* Survival of the Fittest: A 'free-for-all' mode where each player gets points for killing each of the other players. Whichever player has the most kills at the end of the match wins.
* Civil War: Similar to 'Survival of the Fittest,' but in this mode players are divided into two teams and the team with the most collective kills at the end of the match wins.
* Last Splicer Standing: A variation of 'Survival of the Fittest' where the player does not respawn after being killed. The last player alive at the end of the match is the winner.
* Capture the Sister: A 'Capture the Flag' style mode where players are divided into two teams. One team has to protect a Little Sister while the other team tries to steal her and place her in a vent on the other side of the map. After a pre-determined amount of time, the teams switch roles. Whichever team has the most captures at the end of the match wins.
* ADAM Grab: In this mode there is one Little Sister on the map and the player must seek her out and maintain possession of her as long as possible. Whoever has held onto the Sister longest at the end of the match wins.
* Team ADAM Grab: A variant of 'ADAM Grab' where players are divided into two teams. The objective is the same, but victory is determined by a collective score rather than individual scores.
* Turf War: Players are split into two teams and each team must reach pre-determined points on the map to capture that point. The team with the most control points over the longest time wins.
In all modes, except 'Capture the Sister', a Big Daddy suit will spawn at a random location in the level. If a player can find the suit, the choice is given to become the Big Daddy, which will give the player greater strength and endurance, but prohibits the use of plasmids. Once the Big Daddy is defeated, the suit disappears and is moved to another location on the map. In 'Capture the Sister' one member of the defending team is chosen at Random to be the Big Daddy.

I've been playing Team Fortress 2 for a couple years now and I always get back-stabbed by spies, until I got this. Now, I can hear other players walking my way from around the corner. Spies de-cloaking from behind you can be clearly heard, and dealt with before being back-stabbed. And, yes, the audio positioning with these are that amazing. Also, the mic pulls out from the left ear cup. Friends in- game, MSN and Skype from around the world say they're nice and clear. To top the cake, the ear muffs are soft fabric, feel nice and not noticeable after hours of play.
If you play online first person shooter games and you happen to need a mouse or maybe just want something different, have a look at the Zelman gun-styled mouse, the FPSGUN. I have a few friends that use this thanks to my suggestion, and they all got it here from Amazon.
It's amazing how well indie (independent) games fare in today's market. Such as World of Goo, The Maw, Trine, Tank Universal and Audiosurf. But the one that really caught me off-guard is a little game called Defense Grid: The Awakening.
I found myself playing the demo over and over for hours. Steam has a wonderful service where I can stay home and shop, find a variety of games that I can purchase and never have to worry about my son getting his hands on the disks. Defense Grid: The Awakening is truly the next best game being added to my collection.
A fun little desktop toy that you can pet, talk to and play with. You can even tell your boss that it's useful as it can read stock quotes to you as they happen. It will also dance on your disk.
There is new competition for Steam. A company called OnLive has an innovative idea to run games on their hardware and stream it directly to their users.
